Monthly Photo Journal: August 2013

August was a pretty tough month for us. It was mostly filled with stress, anxiety, and all sorts of emotions because of the flood. But through it all, we stayed as positive as we could and still had times of fun, joy and laughter.

Here are a few things that we did:
Of course- the flood which happened at the beginning of the month. // My car was damaged by the flood, but we got him fixed and we were reunited a week later. // J's friend from the Peace Corps came to visit us- it was good having our very first visitor here in Nashville! // Hiking at Edwin Warner Park.

A night out on the town. // Dark clouds looming over the city. // One day, J surprised my after work and took me to Jake Owen's Summer Block Party. I had no clue who that is (I'm not that into country music), but we went because it was free. All I have to say is- NEVER. AGAIN. Way too many people and it got way too cray. // A very tiny part of the VERY LONG line to the Jake Owen concert. The line seriously went for blocks and blocks.

We enjoyed a free play in the park at The Nashville Shakespeare Festival - "A Midsummer Night's Dream". It was really well done. // Picnicking at the park. // Hiking at Radnor Lake State Natural Area.  // A view of Radnor Lake.

Sunday Funday at Dave & Buster's. // We celebrated our 2-year wedding anniversary at a yummy sushi spot. // We joined an anti-war in Syria protest. // We finally got to move into our new place at the very end of the month. This is a shot from our bedroom of a fireworks show happening at the baseball stadium just up the road. It was a perfect view.

  1. That's great that you were still able to enjoy yourselves and have some good adventures even right after that scary flood!
